Prince George's County Executive to launch legislation putting youth sports front and center
LARGO, Md. (FOX 5 DC) - Prince George's County is the home of Kevin Durant, Len Bias, Ty Lawson, Shawne Merriman, and Julian Peterson, and the county executive wants to see it flourish even more.
On Monday night, County Executive Angela Alsobrooks met with local youth teams to discuss some of the challenges of participating in youth sports in the county, and to talk about possibilities for overcoming some of those challenges.
Alsobrooks met with the programs' leadership in the Tulip Grove Elementary School, and she told them that she would be presenting legislation in Annapolis to make youth sports part of the mission of Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission.
