Snow threat prompts early dismissals: DC, Maryland, Virginia closures & delays

The D.C. Region is expecting some inclement weather heading into the weekend. Here's what you need to know about closures and delays. 

All closures & early dismissals as of Friday at noon: 

  • Howard County Public Schools, 90 minutes early closure
  • Frederick County Public Schools, 2 hours early closure
  • Montgomery County Public Schools, no afternoon or evening activities

Snow closures & dismissals

Howard County Public Schools will be closing 90 minutes early on Friday, January 3, 2025, due to forecasted inclement weather. Aftercare, afternoon, and evening activities will be canceled. Community-sponsored programs in our buildings are canceled.

All Frederick County Public Schools and community-group afterschool and evening activities are canceled or postponed. Due to inclement weather, Frederick County, Maryland public schools and offices will be closing two hours early on Friday, January 3, 2025.
