Woman walking on Key Bridge attacked from behind in attempted sexual assault
ARLINGTON, Va. - A man attempted to sexually assault a 27-year-old woman walking along the Key Bridge early Sunday morning, police said.
Police said the victim was ambushed from behind by the suspect after they had walked past each other on the bridge at around 2:30 a.m. She was pulled off the sidewalk towards a wooded area nearby the George Washington Memorial Parkway. The suspect covered her mouth and tried to put his hands under her shorts.
However, the victim was able to put up a fight and break free from the suspect. The suspect would run away from the area and was last seen on the bridge heading towards Washington D.C.
Police said the suspect is described as a white male in his late 20s to early 30s. He is about 5'8" to 5'10" tall with a medium build, fair skin, dirty blonde hair and clean shaven during the attack. He was wearing a dark t-shirt with tan shorts or possibly pants.
