School crossing guard, die-hard Washington Nationals fan, surprised with tickets to World Series
ARLINGTON, Va. - A beloved school crossing guard -- and die-hard Washington Nationals fan -- was surprised Wednesday with tickets to the World Series!
Mr. Jeff, who is well known to students and parents at Nottingham Elementary School in Arlington, posted a sign last week in search of tickets for one of the team’s home games.
It was a bucket list item that seemed to be out of reach for Jeff who said he and his family searched online but saw the prices were out of reach.
That’s when his school family stepped in! Over 60 families and students collected over $2000 -- plus spending money -- to buy him two tickets to Game 4 on Saturday. He said he’ll be taking his wife.
"This is an amazing bunch of families!" he said on Wednesday when he was surprised with the tickets.
