Police release video, photos of suspect wanted in Forestville killings
FORESTVILLE, Md. - Prince George's County police have released video footage showing a male suspect dressed in a white shirt and jeans running from the crime scene moments after he fatally shot three people and wounded two others in Forestville.
Prince George's County fire officials said all five adult victims were found shot inside a home in the 3100 block of Orleans Avenue at around 9:43 p.m. on Friday.
Three of the victims were found dead at the scene while the two surviving victims were critically injured and taken to a local trauma center. The victims who were killed have been identified as 50-year-old Carlina Renee Gray of Orleans Avenue in Forestville, 55-year-old Jan Marie Parks of Dunbar Avenue in Landover and 60-year-old Allen Rowlett of Marion Street in Forestville.
The surveillance video of released by police on Monday shows the suspect with a gun before entering the home where the shootings took place. Moments after the shootings, he is seen on camera again putting his weapon away, jumping a fence and running from the scene. Police said they believe he acted alone in the shooting and are looking to identify him.
"As you can see in that video, he is pretty nonchalant after just shooting five people, which is disturbing to say the least," said Prince George's County Police Capt. Brian Reilly.
Investigators said they still don't know what the motive was for the killings, but they do believe it was a targeted crime. Police said they did find drugs inside the home after the murders, but they don't know if they are related to the shootings.
Police also said the suspect stopped at a convenience store in the 7400 block of Marlboro Pike in Forestville about 30 minutes before the killings. The cashier who came face-to-face with the suspect told FOX 5 that the man was aggressive with her and told her to hurry up as he bought cigarettes before leaving.
A friend of Allen Rowlett said he was a limousine driver who loved motorcycles. Carlina Gray's sisters said she was caring, generous and lived in the home with her boyfriend who was also shot, but survived. The family of Jan Parks said in a statement, "We are devastated by the loss of Jan Parks. Jan last saw her mother at 8:30 Friday night and an hour later she was gone. It was sudden and unexpected. We are a very close-knit and private family and we ask for time and space to celebrate the life of our loved one."
Homicide detectives canvassed the neighborhood Monday night going door-to-door passing out flyers to residents and seeking additional information from the public in this case. A $25,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
"We believe somebody out there knows who this person is," said Reilly. "Distinctive hair, distinctive walk, distinctive clothing from that evening and we look forward to hearing from the community on this case."
