Court docs: Prince George's Co. preacher attacked, robbed escorts

Court documents are revealing new details about a Prince George's County preacher who is accused of attacking escorts in Montgomery County.

Gabriel Omogbo, 33, faces attempted murder, armed robbery and first-degree rape charges. In posts on his social media pages, Omogbo claims he is a preacher at the Celestial Church of Christ in Riverdale.

Court documents state that one escort said she had consensual sex with Omogbo at the Crowne Plaza in Rockville. However, she said the suspect then emerged from a bathroom holding a kitchen knife and said, "You are going to die tonight." Authorities said the victim was stabbed in the abdomen, and the suspect allegedly took an iPad, cell phone and $300 cash from her.

In another attack, Omogbo is charged with assaulting two women at a Radisson Hotel in Shady Grove, forcing them to have intercourse and then stealing their belongings as well.

Prosecutors said the suspect found his victims on Backpage.com, which is a website that has become a frequent location for prostitution advertisements. Now, police are encouraging other potential victims to come forward.

Since his July arrest, Omogbo has been undergoing psychiatric evaluation at an area hospital. He is due in court on January 8.
