Wintry mix preparing to hit DC: Here's what you can expect
WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - The DC region will see morning cloudy skies clear to more sunshine Saturday afternoon as temperatures reach the mid-40s but all eyes are on a wintry mix heading our way Sunday.
A mix of snow is expected to arrive by mid-morning Sunday and through the day we expect the heaviest snow spots to be in the northern and northwestern suburbs. Those areas can expect 3 to 6 inches of snow.

The DC Metro looks like it will receive a slushy mess as the area can expect rain that will transition to snow. Later Sunday evening, the DC Metro will transition back into mostly rain.
Early estimates predict about 1 to 3 inches of slushy snow for the DC Metro. The mix of snow and rain will end late Sunday evening.
This wintry mix may impact the Monday morning commute and school closings and delays are possible.
