Sunday morning will be a soaker, but wet weather clears out in time for Game 5 of World Series

It's a wet start to your Sunday day as rain becomes widespread and heaviest though the first half of the day.

The rain, which is much needed for the area, will be a downpour at times.

The District, Southern Maryland and Central Virginia especially, have a chance of seeing some storms. At times morning winds will be gusty.

If you're headed to the Marine Corp Marathon, you'll need the rain gear. Once the system moves through we can look forward to some clearing skies by late afternoon - all in time for Game 5 of the World Series.

Temperatures will be on the rise and we are headed to the mid-70s but some of areas will even get to 80 degrees. It's another unpredictable October day regarding the temperatures reaching above the seasonal average. Behind the front that will be moving through, we'll have a cool night and mostly clear skies.

If you're heading to Game 5 to watch the Washington Nationals, thankfully FOX 5 will be the official sponsor of the rally towel you'll be receiving because you'll likely need to dry your seat off, but after that, you'll only need the towel  to wave it in the air as you cheer on the Nats!

You can watch all the 2019 World Series action on FOX 5.
