Hurricane Harvey pet help

As floodwaters rose, many families had to make difficult decisions about their furry, feathered, and slithery friends.

Many shelters have opened their doors to family pets, but some were either left behind or lost in the confusion and devastation.

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) has a team in Texas working to rescue and reunite animals with their families. HSUS says if you see a person or animal in distress, call 911 right away.

You can also call the Houston SPCA for help with a distressed animal at 713-861-3010.

There are several organizations accepting donations to help rescue and care for animals displaced by the hurricane and resulting floods. (Below this list are resources for finding lost pets.)
