President Jimmy Carter arrives in DC for state funeral

Services in D.C. honoring the life of former President Jimmy Carter are underway. President Carter’s remains, which have been in repose at the Carter Presidential Center in Georgia since Saturday, arrived at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland on Tuesday just after 2 p.m. Special Air Mission 39 departed from Dobbins Air Reserve Base and landed at Joint Base Andrews, where a ceremony was held for the 39th president who died on Dec. 29.
