"I love those types of situations … when it's on thin ice and plays need to be made. That's what you live for if you really love this sport," Daniels said after the game, describing his game-winning drive. "It's those big-time moments when it comes down to the end, everything against you, back against the wall."

Philadelphia started strong, building a 21-7 lead in the first quarter behind quarterback Kenny Pickett and a dominant run game led by Saquon Barkley, who rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns. A.J. Brown contributed with one touchdown reception, finishing with 70 yards on five catches.

Washington struggled with ball security throughout the game, committing five turnovers, including two interceptions and three fumbles. However, Daniels kept the team in contention with over 300 yards of offense, including 81 yards on the ground.

The Eagles' defense forced key turnovers, including a pivotal interception in the third quarter, but their offense failed to capitalize on opportunities in the second half. Philadelphia settled for two field goals in the fourth quarter, leaving the door open for Washington's late surge.

Injuries also impacted both teams. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts exited in the first quarter with a concussion, leaving the offense in Pickett's hands.

Washington's Marshon Lattimore and Dyami Brown both left in the fourth quarter with hamstring injuries.

"It was ugly in some ways, it was also awesome in some ways," Commanders Head Coach Dan Quinn said after the game. "There's a lot more under the hood for us. The good news is we can improve a lot. It was a toughness game to show you're down for the fight."

The dramatic finish keeps Washington in the thick of the playoff race, improving their home record to 6-2. Up next, the Commanders will take on the Atlanta Falcons on Dec. 29.
