Erin Como
Erin Como is an Emmy-nominated host and reporter with Fox 5 News in Washington, DC.
She joined the station in August of 2015 covering the morning commute and reporting for Good Day DC prior to expanding her role.
Erin is one of the city’s go-to tastemakers on the local food and dining scene – working with local chefs, restaurateurs, and mixologists through her series "Cooking With Como" and as the co-host of LION Lunch Hour.
She believes food is the universal language of love and a shared meal can bring people from all walks of life together.
You can also catch her food, fitness, and lifestyle reports on the DMV Zone and across all platforms.
In addition, she hosts and produces a variety of half-hour holiday specials that focus on cooking, fitness, and DMV Destinations.
Erin has had a chance to interview some of the biggest names in news, politics, sports, food, and entertainment – including Gordon Ramsay, Carla Hall, Martha Stewart, Wolfgang Puck, Bradley Cooper, Ricky Martin, Tina Fey and Misty Copeland.
One of the highlights of her time at Fox 5 was when she got to ride along with the Stanley Cup Champion Washington Capitals in their first ever Stanley Cup parade. She also loved covering The Nationals’ World Series win.
Erin is also passionate about several causes and volunteer work. She has volunteered with Fihankra Akoma Ntoaso, Autism Speaks, Emerging Scholars, The St. Jude Foundation, and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Como got her start in journalism in Philadelphia, PA working multiple behind-the-scenes jobs at a local affiliate prior to moving to Nashville, TN, where she worked as a reporter and host of a 'Road Trippin' series that took her on adventures from Graceland in Memphis to the beaches in Florida.
Erin grew up in Bensalem, PA and graduated from Temple University with honors and a double major in Broadcast Journalism and English.
