Wegmans coming to Rockville Twinbrook development
ROCKVILLE, Md. - Montgomery County is getting its second Wegmans a store spokesman confirms to FOX 5.
"I can confirm that Wegmans is planning to build a store in Rockville, Maryland," said a Wegmans spokesman in a statement.
The grocery store, which has a location in Germantown on Seneca Meadows Parkway, is due to be in Twinbrook Quarter shopping center.
Wegmans has become known for their cleanliness, customer service and vast variety of products at competitive prices, including prepared and packaged foods, produce, and baked goods. The grocery chain has developed a "cult-like" following among shoppers and has won awards as one of the best companies to work for.
"We're looking forward to expanding our footprint in Maryland and offering incredible customer service, the best ingredients, restaurant-quality prepared food, and consistent low prices at Twinbrook Quarter," said the spokesman.
The grocery store, headquartered in Rochester, New York, has eight locations in Maryland, including Lanham, Columbia and Frederick and 11 stores in Virginia.
Bethesda Magazine reports shopping center developer B.F. Saul made the announcement of the new store on Tuesday, and will reportedly anchor the plaza at the corner of Halpine Road and Rockville Pike.
There is no word on when the store will open.
