Tyra Banks opens "Smize & Dream" ice-cream shop in DC

WASHINGTON - Tyra Banks has opened her first-ever ice cream shop "Smize & Dream" in Washington, D.C.
The ice cream shop will be a pop-up located in the Woodley Park area at 2653 Connecticut Ave NW near the Smithsonian's National Zoo.
"My obsession with ice cream has me waking up each night with our company on my mind," said Banks. "There is no slapping my name on this company. I live, breathe, and absolutely love it. I am living my sweetest dream."
In honor of D.C.’s 202 area code, the first 202 guests in line on opening day will receive a free scoop of the ice cream and SMiZE Surprize of their choice, while supplies last.
The top model, host, and business owner started her ice cream company, Smize Cream, five years ago.

"Smize" is one of Banks' coined terms for "smiling with your eyes." Smize earlier had some pop-ups in California, but is now focused on a stand in Dubai and its newest addition right here in the nation's capital.
The new logo represents a family filled with dreams along with a small tweak to the name as a reminder to never forget why they exist. The new D.C. shop is part of a rebrand of "SMiZe & DREAM," a company that empowers local youth.
Ice-cream lovers will be able to enjoy some specially crafted flavors that pull from the heart of D.C. like "Cap Hill Crunch,"’ also known as "Who Put French Toast in My Cereal?"
The brand will additionally drop a new Limited Edition ice cream flavor and SMiZE Surprize each week until the end of summer.
