Tractor trailer crash near Marine Corps Base Quantico

A tractor trailer crash caused morning delays along a portion of Interstate-95 near Marine Corps Base Quantico.

A tractor-trailer driver died after authorities say he suffered a medical emergency while behind the wheel causing him to run off the road and crash early Wednesday morning in Virginia.

The crash happened around 4:50 a.m. Wednesday morning on northbound Interstate 95 at mile-marker 146 in Stafford County.

Tractor trailer crash involving multiple vehicles causing delays near Marine Corps Base Quantico

A tractor trailer crash involving several vehicles is creating major delays Wednesday morning near Marine Corps Base Quantico.

Virginia State Police say the tractor-trailer was heading northbound on I-95 when the driver suffered a medical emergency while behind the wheel. The driver drove off the right side of the highway and collide with a guardrail.

The truck was hauling several hundred bags of concrete, which spilled into the roadway and blocked northbound lanes for about an hour.

The driver was transported to Mary Washington Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
