‘The Masked Singer’ Season 12 reveals first look – and clues are everywhere

It is time to clue in to Season 12 of "The Masked Singer." 

FOX unveiled a first look on Wednesday, which reveals clues embedded in costumes, song choices and on-stage moments.

"There are clues everywhere," host Nick Cannon says in the video, published on July 24.

What to expect on Season 12 of ‘The Masked Singer’

The twelfth season, which kicks off Sept. 25, will feature all-new theme nights celebrating huge blockbuster fan favorites and music from iconic superstars. 

Additionally, new this season, clues will be hidden everywhere – embedded in costumes, in song choices, packages and on-stage moments. 

"See if you can spot them!," FOX wrote in a press release highlighting the sneak peek. 

About ‘The Masked Singer’

The Emmy Award-nominated singing competition features host Nick Cannon, alongside fan-favorite panelists Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, Robin Thicke and Rita Ora. 

The top-secret singing competition series is based on the South Korean format created by Mun Hwa Broadcasting Corp. During the show, celebrities face off against one another while shrouded from head to toe in an elaborate costume, concealing his or her identity.

With each performance, the host, panelists, audience, viewers and even the other contestants are left guessing who is singing behind the mask. The singers may attempt to throw off the crowd, but observers might pick up on tiny clues buried throughout the show. Each week, a singer is eliminated -- and then reveals his or her true identity.
