Tampa-made t-shirts put unique twist on the pocket tee

A local T-shirt company started by three Tampa friends is making a name for itself with its huge front pockets.

"We love putting beer and puppies and babies in there where ever we go people are laughing," said Bucket Tees CEO Jake Kehlenbeck

"This is a big pocket and what's bigger than a pocket? A bucket," said CFO John Grellner.

Bucket Tees is considered a small-business, but sales are blowing up.

"We're closing in on 1,000 shirts [sold]. We're pumped about that, that's not a number we expected to see," said Grellner.

Bucket Tees are only available online for now, but the creators hope to expand to retail stores. The shirts are also all locally made.

"We've been growing a lot, about 90-percent of our business is since March. Exponential growth," Kehlenbeck said.

"To be honest, I think it appeals to anyone who likes the designs and anybody who likes to have free hands," Grellner said.
