Rockville named one of the most generous cities by GoFundMe

ROCKVILLE, Md. - GoFundMe, the popular fundraising website, released findings from its 2024 Year in Help report. 

GoFundMe named Rockville, Maryland as the 23rd most generous city in the U.S., with over 15,000 residents donating to a GoFundMe in 2024. 

Some of the fundraisers Rockville residents donated to included: 

• Honoring the life of beloved football coach at Bullis School, Raymond Butler
• Sending Sofi Reinoso to the Paris Olympics to compete for Mexico
• Providing Hurricane Relief to those affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton through GoFundMe.org
• Upgrading Hank Dietle's Tavern to better serve its patrons
• Replacing money meant for the Rockville Volunteer Fire Department to buy two new ambulances, after they were scammed.
