Police: Suspects charged in killing of Woodbridge man found in burning car are MS-13 gang members

WOODBRIDGE, Va. - A body found inside a burning vehicle at a Prince William County park in March has been identified as a 25-year-old man who was reported missing by his family, police said.

Prince William County police said detectives have also learned that the four suspects charged with his murder are members of the MS-13 gang.

The medical examiner's office were able to identify Santos Arquimidis Sorto Amaya as the victim after conducting a DNA analysis. He was found dead inside his car that was found on fire at Veterans Park in Woodbridge on March 15.

Amaya was last seen leaving his home to head to work on the morning of March 13. He was reported missing the following day after he didn't show up and was not able to be reached, officials said.

Police said investigators determined Amaya was abducted by the suspects in front of his residence and was then shot several times. He was later placed in the trunk of his own car and driven to Veterans Park where the suspects lit the car on fire.

The victim was not known to the suspects and was not a member of any gang, according to police.

Police have charged 21-year-old Manuel Enrique Robles Lopez, 23-year-old Erick Alexander Contreras Navarro, 19-year-old Denis Ludwin Espinal Alvares and a 17-year-old boy with Amaya's murder.
