Philadelphia bakery creates 'Greased Pole' themed donut

A Philadelphia donut shop is getting ready for the Eagles matchup against the Patriots in Super Bowl LIII by making some major adjustments to their menu.

Dottie's Donuts in West Philadelphia has unveiled their "Greased Pole" donut paying homage to the Philadelphia Police tactic of using Crisco to grease the city's light poles to prevent raucous fans from climbing them.

The 'long john' style donut features vanilla and matcha flavored glazes to replicate the look of a pole covered in grease.

Dottie's took their support for the Eagles one step further, by banning all Boston-themed donuts from their shop until after the game, including the widely popular Boston Cream donut.

While the pole greasing strategy did not stop all Philadelphia Eagles fans from scaling the city's poles, it at least resulted in a tasty treat.

Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross insists the department has something "way better than Crisco" for potential celebrations following the Super Bowl.

"They're not gonna be able to circumvent what we've got planned next," Ross said.
