Multiple crashes cause morning commute mess around DC region
SILVER SPRING, Md. - Multiple crashes have made a mess of the morning commute around the D.C. region.
On the inner loop of Interstate 495 in the Chevy Chase area near Connecticut Avenue, a tractor trailer carrying mail jackknifed causing delays. In the Silver Spring area, an early morning vehicle crash along the outer loop of the Capital Beltway after New Hampshire Avenue before University Boulevard caused huge delays. FOX 5's Mike Thomas says one person was killed in this crash and at least three others were injured.
Along northbound Interstate 270 at Route 109 in the Hyattstown area, a tractor trailer carrying potatoes was involved in a vehicle crash causing traffic problems. On southbound I-270, a double tractor trailer went down an embankment adding to the traffic problems.
All crashes are under investigation at this time.
