Migos' Offset, bodyguard, arrested outside of Atlanta
CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. - Kiari Kendrell Cephus, better known to the world as Offset, part of the Atlanta-area rap group Migos was arrested Friday afternoon in Clayton County, Georgia.
Police confirm they pulled over a Porsche 911 around 3 p.m. near Riverdale Road and Tara Boulevard for failing to maintain its lane. Cephus was arrested following a search of the car when officers said they found multiple handguns, marijuana, and $107,000.
Authorities charged Cephus with two felonies: possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a weapon during a crime. He was also charged with possession of marijuana (one ounce or less) and an improper lane change.
Police also arrested Cephus' bodyguard, 27-year-old Senay Gezahgn, and charged him with possession of marijuana (less than an ounce) and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.
Cephus is on probation as part of a previous plea deal until 2020.
The arrest comes less than a month after he and Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar, known worldwide by her stage name Cardi B, welcomed their daughter Kulture into the world. Neither were in the vehicle at the time.
