Metro employee investigated for alleged threats against police on Facebook page

A Metro employee is being investigated for making threats against police on his Facebook page. The posts were written after two police officers were shot in protests in Ferguson, Mo., on Wednesday night.

According to a screenshot for the post that has since been deleted, the employee wrote, "The best way to solve this problem is for people to randomly pick police officers family members and kill them."

He wrote other anti-police notes on his personal Facebook page.

"We are aware of this [social media] thread and are taking it very seriously. An internal investigation is currently underway," Morgan Dye, a spokeswoman for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority told me.

D.C. police spokeswoman Gwendolyn Crump said, "MPD is aware of the threats. It remains under investigation by MPD and WMATA."

According to his profile on LinkedIn, the employee has worked for 18 years at Metro and is currently a station manager.
