Maryland man charged with DUI, resisting arrest, assault following hit-and-run
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. (FOX 5 DC) - A man was arrested in Prince George's County after a hit-and-run led to DUI and assault charges.
Around 6:11 p.m. on June 16, officers were called to the 2100 block of Crain Highway in Waldorf after a person was hit in Prince George's County and the suspect fled.
The victim followed the striking vehicle to a shopping center in Charles County.

When officers made contact, they found that the driver of the car who hit the other appeared to be impaired and a check showed that his driver’s license was suspended.
The suspect, John King, III, 37, of Chesapeake Beach, was arrested. As he was being placed in the police car, King assaulted an officer and spit on him.
He has been charged with driving while impaired, resisting arrest and second-degree assault. King is currently being held at the Charles County Detention Center without bond.
