Man shot inside apartment in Manassas

MANASSAS, Va. - A man has been taken to the hospital after he was shot inside an apartment in Manassas Tuesday night, according to police.

Prince William County police say officers responded to the Maplewood Park Apartments in the 8100 block of Peakwood Court after receiving a call at around 7:02 p.m.

The 28-year-old victim was shot several times in the lower body, police say. He was flown to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Officials say a police K-9 unit is searching the area and residents should expect an increased police presence.
