Man arrested outside White House, Secret Service says
WASHINGTON - A man was arrested in the area of the White House for assaulting an officer Thursday night, the Secret Service said.
Officials said the incident happened at around 8:40 p.m. and the man was apprehended by Secret Service uniformed division officers.
The suspect is facing charges of assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, threats to do bodily harm and destruction of property.
There was no impact to White House operations, according to the Secret Service.
