Homeless get hotel stay, gifts, meal for Christmas in Dallas
Hundreds of homeless men, women and children will have a warm bed to sleep in Christmas Eve thanks to the SoupMobile.
The red carpet was rolled out and area homeless were greeted on Thursday morning by cheering crowds as they walked into the Omni Hotel in Downtown Dallas.
"I think it's wonderful, just wonderful. I'm very thankful," said Donna Baker.
It's the 11 th time the SoupMobile has hosted the event, called Celebrate Jesus. Each of the participants receives new clothes, gifts and will eat at a banquet. Organizers want to make sure the homeless get a warm bed to wake up in on Christmas morning.
The SoupMobile said more than 2,000 volunteers help make the event possible.
