Flood waters rise in Old Town Alexandria following heavy rain
ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Some areas of Old Town Alexandria experienced flooding after heavy rains hit the region on Thursday.
FOX 5's Annie Yu was near the waterfront along King Street and said many businesses had already placed sandbags in front of their doors and windows to protect their homes and businesses.
High tide Friday morning brought water levels over the curbs and up to the storefronts.
The area is prone to flooding and many residents are experienced in dealing with flooding concerns. The area is expected to see moderate flooding over the next few days until water levels recede.
