FaceTime bug allows callers to listen in before you accept the call, reports say

A worrisome bug is giving some FaceTime users cause for concern on Monday.

According to TechCrunch, a Chicago-based artist, Benji Mobb initially demonstrated the bug in a Tweet.

The bug enables a user to listen to the call recipient before they even pick up.

The phone rings, so the recipient is aware that they're being called, but there's no way for the recipient to know that they're being listened to.

TechCrunch says it was able to verify the bug on multiple iPhones running iOS 12.1.2.

Apple told the tech news outlet that it is aware of the issue, and they're trying to fix it in a software update later this week.
