Drunk U-Haul driver charged with manslaughter after fatal crash with motorcycle, police say
ODENTON, Md. - The driver of a U-Haul truck has been charged with manslaughter, drunk driving and other crimes after a fatal crash Friday night involving a motorcycle.
Anne Arundel County police say the driver of a Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling northbound on Annapolis Road near Berger Street when the truck pulled out of a nearby parking lot.
Sky Fox footage shows the motorcycle got trapped under the truck.
The motorcycle driver, 23-year-old Ian Gregory Vangenderen of Odenton, died at the scene.
The U-Haul driver, 21-year-old Kayla Nicole Joy of Odenton, was uninjured. Police determined she was driving under the influence of alcohol and faces related charges, including failure to yield right of way.
