Death investigation underway after human remains found in bag on side of Bethesda road

BETHESDA, Md. (FOX 5 DC) - Montgomery County Police are investigating after they say human remains were found inside a bag, or tarp, on the side of the road in Bethesda Monday evening.

The remains were found in the 10000 block of Old Georgetown Road at around 5:30 p.m. near a bus stop.

Police say the remains were found "slightly into the woods."

The remains were transported to the medical examiner's office. No details have been released on possible age or gender at this time.

Police are calling this case an undetermined death investigation.
