The downtown Washington, D.C. area is covered in snow as the first snowfall of the season moves across the region.

The Brief

    • A snowball fight is set for 11 a.m. Monday at Meridian Hill/Malcolm X Park.
    • Up to a foot of snow is expected to fall Monday.

WASHINGTON - Since 2010, D.C. residents have gathered for a major snowball fight anytime there's been enough snow. 

With up to a foot of snow expected Monday, the D.C. Snowball Fight Association has scheduled a snowball fight at Meridian Hill/Malcolm X Park for Monday at 11:00 a.m. 

Organizers shared that the snowball fight will take place on the upper level of the park.
