DC police officers rescue elderly residents from house fire
WASHINGTON - Two D.C. police officers are being credited with pulling an elderly man and woman from a house fire in Northeast D.C.
The fire happened at a home on the 1700 block of Buchanan Street around 12:30 a.m. Thursday.
The man suffered serious injuries and the woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Both were transported to an area hospital. Both of the officers were transported for evaluation.
Fire officials say the flames were contained to the first floor.
