Two firefighters injured in response to fire at Ristorante Piccolo in Georgetown
WASHINGTON - Firefighters initially responded to a two-story fire at Georgetown restaurant Ristorante Piccolo in the 1000 block 31st St Northwest. After arrival three additional engines were requested and a Mayday distress call was declared due to a ceiling collapse.
According to officials, the fire is located in the storage room of the restaurant. Firefighters gained control of the fire after battling difficult flames. Two firefighters were transported to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
