Bear spotted in downtown Winchester
WINCHESTER, Va. - A bear was spotted in downtown Winchester, and police are warning people to be careful.
The large bear was seen near Piccadilly Street early Wednesday morning. A picture showed the bear in front of the Mount Hebron Cemetery.
Winchester police are asking residents to remove food sources that can attract bears.
Residential bear problems are common when natural food supplies are low. After a few failed attempts to find food around homes, bears normally leave the area.
If you see a bear, police say do not approach it.
