ARRESTED: DC man accused of throwing 7-month-old girl down stairs
WOODBRIDGE, Va. - Prince William County police say a D.C. man who is accused of throwing an infant down a flight of stairs has been arrested Wednesday.
At around 9 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a home in the 3400 block of Castle Hill Drive in Woodbridge to investigate a domestic incident. A 53-year-old woman said the alleged suspect, 38-year-old James Tony Brown, forced his way into the residence and assaulted her.
He then allegedly went to an upstairs bedroom, grabbed a 7-month-old girl and threw her down the stairs, causing a serious leg injury. Brown is also accused of striking the infant's 24-year-old mother in the head with a glass bottle, but she only suffered minor injuries.
The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force located Brown at his D.C. home and he is awaiting extradition to Virginia.
Brown faces two counts of malicious wounding, one count of cruelty to children, one count of burglary and one count of simple assault.
