Alexandria to rename first set of streets that honor Confederate leaders

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - The Alexandria City Council has unanimously voted to rename the first set of streets that honor Confederate leaders. 

The Council passed a measure on Saturday that would change the names of three streets and re-dedicate a fourth. 

The changes will happen in June.

At least 41 streets in Alexandria are associated with Confederate officers.
