Alcohol believed to be a factor in fatal Charles County crash, police say

A man is dead and a woman is injured following a fatal head-on collision that happened early Saturday on Route 301 in Newburg.

A preliminary investigation conducted by the Maryland State Police reports a 1995 Ford F-150 driven by Kevin Earl Johnson, 57, of Nanjemoy, was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Rt. 301 at around 12:42 a.m. when his truck collided head-on with a 2017 Honda Civic driven by 22-year-old Krystal Daniella-Lyn Lewis of Newburg.

After the crash, police say the Ford F-150 overturned and came to a rest on its roof.
