911 call made by Maryland corrections officer accused of stabbing wife released

BRYANS ROAD, Md. - A 911 call made by a Prince George's County corrections officer accused of stabbing his wife inside their Charles County home has been released.

The Charles County Sheriff's Office said investigators determined Armando Rodriguez handcuffed and shackled his wife while she slept and then stabbed her repeatedly over several hours on March 23.

During the call, Rodriguez told the dispatcher that his wife was seriously bleeding after being stabbed in the neck and back, and that the weapon used was a hunting knife with a five-inch blade.

Dispatcher: "Can you tell me exactly what happened?"

Rodriguez: "Domestic. Me and my wife. She's stabbed up and I'm stabbed up."

Dispatcher: "Okay. And where is the weapon now?"

Rodriguez: "Uh, it's in the kitchen."

Dispatcher: "Where are you guys stabbed at?"

Rodriguez: "Excuse me?"

Dispatcher: "Where are you stabbed at?"

Rodriguez: "In the hands and she's all over."

Rodriguez goes on to say that their kids are at school. A few minutes into the call, you can hear his wife in the background. You can't make out what she is saying, but he tells her, "They're coming. They're coming."

About four minutes into the call, officers arrive at the home. Rodriguez doesn't speak about why he allegedly stabbed his wife.

The victim was seriously injured and continues to recover from the attack.

Rodriguez is facing several charges that include attempted murder, first-degree assault and false imprisonment.

Officials say Rodriguez was placed on leave without pay by the Prince George's County Department of Corrections.
