8 DC firefighters hurt when 2 fire trucks collide while responding to blaze in Southeast DC
WASHINGTON - Eight DC firefighters were injured after their trucks collided while responding to a fire Friday evening, according to officials.
The fire department said the crash happened just before 7 p.m. at the intersection of 15th and K streets in Southeast DC.
Officials said four firefighters were hurt from each truck, but none of their injuries were life-threatening.
The blaze the firefighters were responding to was just a few blocks away in the 1400 block of L Street, SE. Firefighters were able to rescue a woman and a cat, who are both expected to be OK.
The cause of the blaze remained under investigation.
