2016 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees announced
Los Angeles rappers N.W.A. join a quartet of 1970s era FM radio rockers as inductees in the 2016 class at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The rock hall announced Thursday that Chicago, Cheap Trick, Deep Purple and Steve Miller will join as members in an April 8 induction ceremony in Brooklyn.
N.W.A. was rewarded by rock hall voters in a year that a movie about their career, "Straight Outta Compton," was a big box office hit.
Both Miller and Cheap Trick made it after their first year on the ballot. Hard-luck act Chic was rejected in its 10th year as a nominee.
