WASHINGTON - The region was hit hard by heavy rain and thunder storms Thursday morning - just a few days after severe weather brought hail, flooding and strong winds to our area.
FOX 5's Mike Thomas monitored the storms as they moved into the area around 6 a.m. The heaviest of those storms stayed to the south of the District.
By 9 a.m., the heaviest of the storm system moved out of our area.
The main concern, Thomas said, was the flash flooding that the storms could have brought with them. On Tuesday, heavy flooding swamped Metro's Cleveland Park station.
Thomas also said that a possible second round of rain could strike after 6 p.m. depending how much humidity is left in the air. But so far, there has been a lot of cloud cover in our area after the morning storms.
