WASHINGTON - This week is forecast to be the peak week for fall foliage for our area – but the vibrant gold, reds and yellows that we all look forward to are not yet that plentiful area-wide.

If you travel to Western Maryland, you will definitely spot Mother Nature's stunning display in places such as Garrett and Allegheny counties. Central and some parts of Northern Virginia are now close to or up to fifty percent with color change.
Elsewhere, you will see individual trees with vibrancy amid others with subtle or moderate colors as many trees are in different stages of color change.
As the week progresses, hopefully, more trees will start to change, and we can look forward to what we all love and appreciate about fall – the beauty and abundance of color with the fall foliage.
