Storm damage in Maryland after reports of possible tornado, other severe weather
MOUNT AIRY, Md. - Severe thunderstorms passing through Maryland caused large damage to several businesses and apartment complexes along with downed trees Friday night.
Fire officials in Carroll County say firefighters responded to a T.J. Maxx in the 1000 block of Twin Arch Road in Mount Airy at around 8:15 p.m. for a report of some type of collapse at the store. There were several reports of a tornado that passed through the area.
Three people suffered minor injuries, officials say.
The fire department in Carroll County says it also responded to other weather-related incidents in the area.
Officials in Baltimore County reported that the roof on two apartment buildings have blown off.
There were also reports of one person killed and another missing following a building collapse at an Amazon Fulfillment Center in Baltimore.
A Tornado Warning was issued for Charles County, St. Mary's and Prince George's County in Maryland late Friday night, but has been canceled.
