Cloudy and mild with temps around 80 degrees Thursday; eyes on Hurricane Dorian as it moves north

Hurricane Dorian is churning off of the coast of South Carolina but its impact will be felt in the D.C. region Thursday. FOX 5's Mike Thomas says the storm has brought cloud cover to the area and will keep temperatures at around 80 degrees which is much cooler than Wednesday's record high of 96 degrees.

Mike says some of our local beaches will not be spared from the impact of Hurricane Dorian. Parts of Maryland's Eastern Shore, including Ocean City, are currently under a Tropical Storm Watch. All of Coastal Eastern Virginia, including Virginia Beach and Norfolk, are under a Tropical Storm Warning.

Cooler temperatures in the mid-70s are expected Friday with the slight possibility of a rain shower or two in the D.C. region. Gusty winds and heavier rain can be expected in Ocean City and other parts of the Eastern Shore. The good news -- Dorian is out of here for the weekend with lots of sunshine on Saturday and Sunday and temperatures in the low-80s.
