Raising money for DC-area schools with the Safeway Foundation

For the fourth year in a row, Fox 5 is helping raise funds to buy school supplies for schools in the DMV. This morning Fox 5’s Maureen Umeh joined Washington Football Team’s Gary Clark, the Safeway Foundation, El Tiempo, and members of the community to kick off the School Spirit campaign. During the entire month of August, Safeway customers can donate money at check stands. That money will be used to purchase school supplies and help schools with related projects. Over the last four years, the campaign has raised $1.4 million dollars for 300 schools in our area.
