Montgomery County police struggling with recruitment and retention

The Montgomery County Police Department is facing recruitment and retention as it struggles to fill its ranks. FOX 5 is getting new insight into the departure of Montgomery County Police Chief Marcus Jones who recently retired. Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich tells FOX 5’s On The Hill that the chief had entered a delayed retirement option program known as “drop,” which means Jones will collect both a pension and a salary while holding a single taxpayer-supported position.
