Earth Day 'Belonging' project highlights Black Americans in nature
When a communications director was having trouble finding images and representations of people of color enjoying the great outdoors, she took matters into her own hands. She created a free downloadable book that contains photos and stories of Black Americans from across the DMV. "Belonging" was created with the help of the U.S Forest Service. Photojournalist Ama Arthur-Asmah has the story. "Belonging" is available to download at https://natureforward.org/.
