Rendon is an MVP candidate and more known for his bat, but the slick-fielding third baseman has made dazzling plays this postseason, awing Nats fans with his glove and arm. Rendon was top 5 in the National League for third basemen for putouts, assists and double plays this season. The other two finalists at third base are reigning Gold-Glove winner Nolan Arenado of the Colorado Rockies and Atlanta Braves slugger Josh Donaldson.
Soto is famous for his explosive offense, but he was also one of the best left-field defenders in the league as well. The 20-year-old phenom committed only 2 errors in 150 games this season and lead National League left fielders with 273 putouts. The other two finalists are David Peralta of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Hunter Renfroe of the San Diego Padres. All three would be first-time winners of the award.
Robles is quickly making a name for himself as one of the premier outfielders in all of baseball, leading all MLB center fielders with 22 defensive runs saved this season. Robles also led all outfielders with 21 outs above average, according to MLB. He led National League center fielders in assists and putouts. The other two finalists are Lorenzo Cain of the Milwaukee Brewers and Harrison Bader of the St. Louis Cardinals.
Rawlings will announce the winners of the Gold Gloves on Nov. 3.
