Signing Day: 19 student athletes sign full college scholarships at Friendship Collegiate Academy
WASHINGTON - The future looks bright for 19 student-athletes at D.C.'s Friendship Collegiate Academy.
At the school's National Signing Day ceremony, they made their college choices official-- and signed full scholarships to the colleges they have chosen.
Valedictorian Chauncey Moore, a defensive back, is one of the top standouts in this year's class and was among those to sign their letters of intent. Moore received offers from 14 Division I schools. He holds a 4.25 GPA and wants to major in Computer Science. He announced he will head to Temple University next season.
Former Washington Redskins cornerback Fred Smoot was on hand for the emotional ceremony.
Video from last year's National Signing Day event at Friendship Collegiate went viral, with over 2 million views on Facebook to date.
